Management Staff

DOUGLAS S. WINKLER

A graduate of George Washington University, Doug started working for Winkler Pool Management, Inc., in 1972. The business was founded by his father, Dr. Lawrence Winkler in 1954 as Swimco. He learned the business from the ground up and in 1980 he took over as President .

A hands-on President, Doug personally manages all the administrative and accounting work for this company as well as for three other businesses he owns with his partner, Steve Wilmot. With Steve’s enthusiasm for sales and Doug’s head for numbers, they indeed make the perfect team.

Although his staff has grown to the point where Doug should never have to go into the field to perform work, he often does. Basically, he wouldn't ask anyone to do anything he wouldn't be willing to do himself.

Doug lives just outside Annapolis, Maryland with his wife, Pattie and two children, Kelsey, who is a senior in High School and Brendan, who is a sophomore at Salisbury State University. A "die-hard" Washington Redskins fan, Doug's other interests include boating, reading, and traveling.

STEPHEN C. WILMOT

Steve Wilmot is the Executive Vice President of Winkler Pool Management and has been with the company since 1974. He worked his way up from a lifeguard, learning all aspects of service and pool management, to become a partner in the business. His motto of "think like an owner" obviously served him well.

Steve is also a certified Pool Operator Instructor and frequently speaks to groups on all aspects of management, service and sales. Truly the "quintessential" salesman of our group, he never misses the opportunity to teach his employees how to hone their sales skills whether it be selling chemicals, service or pool management.

He resides in Centreville, Virginia with his wife Kathy and their two teenage sons, Spencer and Tyler. An avid golfer, he also enjoys spending his free time with family and friends on the South River near Annapolis.

BUTCH FODRIE

Butch Fodrie is currently our Vice President of our Virginia Beach office (Swimco/Swimkare). Butch came to us in the Spring of 2004 as a Service Tech for the Swimkare side of Swimco/Swimkare. He has risen through the ranks to become a Service Manager, General Manager and finally the Vice President and head of Swimco/Swimkare, VA beach. Of course as Vice President, he continues to perform a bit of all the duties his other titles indicated as well as administrative and management duties that some with running a dual purpose business of pool service and pool management.

Butch is currently married and has three grown children, two sons and a daughter, and is the proud grandfather of two grandsons, ages 16 and 18. His hobbies include work (!), shooting pool, watching and rooting for his favorite NCAA basketball team, North Carolina, as well as cheering on his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.

TODD JACKSON

Todd Jackson has been the Regional Manager at Swimco since 2002 but has been in the industry some 26 years. He started as so many others, as a lifeguard at age 16, a WSI and Pool Operator at 18 and Aquatic Facility Manager or Division Head for various facilities. He not only manages a fleet of supervisors in the summer, but, like all of our other Regional Managers, he canvasses the area to bid pools for the coming swim season. Ever the multitasker, Todd balanced all of his responsibilities while earning a masters degree in Recreation Administration from NCCU.

Todd lives in near-by Chesapeake, VA with his wife, Vernita and his children Adrienne and Anthony. He enjoys fishing, bowling, swimming and cheering on his favorite teams: The Washington Redskins and The Florida State Seminoles during football season as well as the Duke Blue Devils in basketball.

PAT PANGARO

Pat Pangaro came to Swimco in April of 2007 as Assistant Staffing Director. In April of 2008, Pat became our full-time Staffing Director, and she is also now in charge of the company's Sales and Marketing. Although she has only been in the industry about a year, Pat has learned the business quickly and enjoys the fast paced environment of this seasonal business.

Pat lives in Virginia Beach with her husband of 33 years, Joe, and has two grown children, Jonas and Christina, as well as a grandson, Gabriel. Pat’s hobbies include bowling, fishing and going to the beach with friends and family. She's also her husband's biggest groupie, as he plays in a local band.
