About Swimco

Our company, Swimco, was founded by Dr. Lawrence Winkler in 1954 in the Washington Metropolitan Area. This sister company, Winkler Pool Management, Inc. runs over 150 swimming pools in the DC, MD and VA area.  Dr. Winkler recently retired as the Chairman of the Board, but his son,  Doug Winkler, is the President or both companies. Steve Wilmot is the Executive Vice-President for Swimco and Winkler Pool Management. Doug and Steve hold the same respective positions in yet a 3rd company, Swimkare, which is purely a swimming pool service and supply business that also caters to residential customers.

While the management of Swimco Pools is overseen by Steve Wilmot as well as by Doug Winkler, our Tidewater office is managed on-site by Vice President Butch Fodrie, who brings 30 years of experience in the aquatics industry to the business.  The Virginia Beach location of  Swimkare shares the same address as Swimco Pools, but, as is the case with DC-area operations the functions of these to companies are very different. The two companies, although separate entities, co-exist and support each other in their business goals.

Todd Jackson is the Regional Manager for Swimco Pools. His enthusiasm and attention to customer service have strengthened our management team throughout the years.  Pat Pangaro is the Staffing and Training Director.  Todd and Pat, along with the Area Supervisors, are responsible for the day to day operation of our swimming pool management division.
